Struck around AD 60, this impressive silver Tetradrachm of Nero measures 25mm and weighs 13.99 grams. The obverse features a laureate portrait of Emperor Nero facing right, surrounded by the Greek legend naming him as Caesar Augustus.
The reverse displays a powerful eagle standing left upon a thunderbolt, with a palm branch before – a classic symbol of strength and divine authority. A desirable Roman provincial issue, referenced in Sear 617 and RPC 4182.
