Lunar tradition
According to the lunar calendar, the Year of the Goat occurs between 6 February 2027 and 25 January 2028. Babies born during this time are said to be blessed with the goat’s artistic flare, compassion and courageousness.
Year of the Goat design
The coin’s coloured reverse portrays a representation of a playful young goat leaping over rocky ground and flowering plants at the base of a mountain background. The Chinese character for ‘goat’, the inscription ‘YEAR OF THE GOAT’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark are also incorporated in the design.
