The Battle of Nui Le (21 September 1971) was Australia’s last major engagement in the Vietnam War. Occurring in Phuoc Tuy Province, it involved 4RAR/NZ troops clashing with North Vietnamese forces. Fierce fighting left five Australians dead, marking a sombre close to Australia’s combat operations in Vietnam.
