2016 50c Holden Heritage HK Monaro Coin in Card
The Holden HK Monaro, introduced in July 1968, marked Holden's entry into the muscle car arena with a sleek, pillarless two-door coupe design. Available in Standard, GTS, and GTS 327 trims, it offered a range of engines from a 161ci six-cylinder to a potent 327ci Chevrolet V8. The GTS 327, producing 250bhp, achieved 0–60 mph in 7.6 seconds and completed the quarter-mile in 16.4 seconds . Notably, the GTS 327 secured Holden's first Bathurst 500 victory in 1968, driven by Bruce McPhee and Barry Mulholland . The HK Monaro's blend of performance and style earned it the 1968 Wheels Car of the Year award.
