2016 50c Holden Heritage 48-215 (FX) Coin in Card
The Holden 48-215, affectionately known as the FX, holds the distinction of being Australia's first mass-produced car. Launched on 29 November 1948 by Prime Minister Ben Chifley, it symbolized post-war industrial progress and national pride . Featuring a 2.15-litre inline-six engine producing 60 bhp, the FX could reach speeds over 80 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 18.7 seconds . Its lightweight monocoque construction and durable design made it ideal for Australian conditions. Over 120,000 units were produced until 1953, cementing its legacy in Australian automotive history.
