He also made the first non-stop crossing of the Australian mainland, the first flights between Australia and New Zealand, and the first eastward Pacific crossing from Australia to the United States

Lawrence Hargrave - Engineer, explorer, astronomer, inventor and aeronautical pioneer.
A star replacement banknote in Australia, used until 1972, replaced damaged or misprinted notes. These notes featured a star in the serial number, indicating a break in the consecutive sequence within bundles of 100, allowing bank tellers to easily identify and account for the substitution.
