1988 Bicentennial $10 Banknote (Worlds First Polymer Banknote)

1988 marked the introduction of the world's first polymer banknote.

This new notes sought to address counterfeiting issues as well as durability which would extend the life cycle of banknotes thus reducing production requirements.
