The 1946(M) Australian Penny is one of the scarcer issues of Australia’s George VI series, with only around 240,000 examples struck at the Melbourne Mint. The bronze penny features King George VI on the obverse, designed by Thomas Humphrey Paget, and George Kruger Gray’s distinctive kangaroo reverse.
This example has been graded AU53, retaining strong detail and much of its original appearance with light evidence of circulation. A desirable low-mintage Australian penny and an important post-war issue.
