The 1915 Sydney Mint Half Sovereign was struck during the reign of King George V, as Australia was entering the second year of the First World War. The Sydney Mint had been producing British gold coinage since 1855, although its final half sovereigns were struck in 1920.
This 22-carat gold coin features the bare-headed portrait of George V by Sir E. B. Mackennal, with the classic St George and the Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci on the reverse.
