The 1893 Sydney Mint Gold Half Sovereign was struck during the reign of Queen Victoria and represents an important period in Australia’s gold coinage history. Established in 1855, the Sydney Mint was the first overseas branch of the Royal Mint and played a vital role in converting locally discovered gold into sovereign coinage.

Struck in 22-carat gold, this example features Queen Victoria’s Veiled Head portrait, introduced in 1893, and the traditional St George and the Dragon reverse.
